GGoldValueGuide
About the project

Built independently for people who actually own gold.

I am an independent developer. After trying and reviewing many gold calculators, portfolio trackers and price websites, I could not find one place that handled the everyday decisions of a physical gold owner clearly. So I built GoldValue Guide.

Why I built it

Many tools answered only one small question. A calculator might show melt value but not explain a buyer’s deduction. A price site might display a chart without helping someone value a mixed collection. A portfolio app might require an account before explaining how personal records are stored.

I wanted a practical toolkit that connects those steps: understand today’s reference price, value jewelry, coins and bars, compare selling options, calculate storage costs, plan future purchases and keep useful ownership records.

What I try to do well

GoldValue Guide separates metal value from retail markup and buyer payout rates. The calculators show their assumptions, market pages retain source and observation dates, and the private ownership record keeps personal details on the visitor’s device by default.

The site is intentionally focused on tools and explainers rather than a stream of rewritten gold news. When a feature cannot improve a real decision, it does not belong here.

Independent by design

GoldValue Guide is not a gold dealer, pawn shop, refiner, broker or trading-signal service. It does not buy gold, rank buyers for payment or receive a commission from the estimates shown in its calculators. If commercial relationships or advertising are added in the future, they will be disclosed clearly.

What the tools cannot do

The results are educational estimates, not appraisals, binding offers or investment recommendations. Actual value can be affected by condition, collectability, assay results, stones, solder, local demand, taxes, shipping and a buyer’s own terms. Important decisions should be checked against a written quote or an appropriately qualified professional.

Corrections and suggestions

This is an independently maintained project, and careful feedback helps improve it. If you find a possible data or calculation error, please include the page URL, the inputs used, the result you expected and the observation date shown. You can reach me through the contact page.
